Perotti to Serve as Treasurer for Judicial Campaign

Brewer & Perotti honored as Florida Legal Elite
A. Michael Perotti and Christopher W. Brewer were recognized as among the best lawyers in the State of Florida in the 4th annual edition of Florida's Legal Elite™ by Florida Trend magazine for 2007. The finalists are chosen by their fellow Bar members, which makes this recognition one of the most prestigious in the State. Martinez-Monfort to Lecture at Upcoming CLE Seminar
Luis Martinez-Monfort has been asked to act as a faculty member and lecturer at NBI’s upcoming CLE seminar entitled, “Collection Law, Tips and Strategies,” scheduled for September 18, 2007 at the Double Tree in Tampa.
Partner Appointed Officer to TBBBA Board of Directors
In June, 2007, Luis Martinez-Monfort was appointed Secretary to the Board of Directors of the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association for 2007-2008. Mr. Martinez-Monfort has been a member of the Board of Directors for the past four years and this is his first year as an officer. The Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association consists of over 300 members who represent debtors, creditors, and trustees in bankruptcy.

Brewer Perotti, P.A. is pleased to announce the addition of Luis Martinez-Monfort as a partner to the firm. As of February 19, 2007, the firm will now be known as Brewer Perotti Martinez-Monfort, P.A. Luis Martinez-Monfort, long time friend of Christopher W. Brewer and A. Michael Perotti, was previously a partner with Mills Paskert Divers, P.A., heading that firm’s creditors’ rights and bankruptcy group.
Complete Defense Verdict Obtained for Sheriff in Auto Negligence Case
In November of 2006, A. Michael Perotti, working in conjunction with Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Legal Counsel, Thea Clark, defended the Sheriff’s Office against an auto negligence claim. Following years of intense litigation, a jury trial was finally scheduled in which the Plaintiff sought damages well in excess of the Sheriff’s statutory cap for such claims. After the week long jury trial with testimony from multiple experts and rigorous legal and factual argument, Mr. Perotti and Mrs. Clark were able to secure a complete defense verdict on behalf of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Zero Liability for Sheriff’s Office
In May of 2006, A. Michael Perotti, assisted by Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Legal Counsel Jason Gordillo, obtained an absolute defense verdict on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office. For over 5 years the Plaintiff had maintained multiple civil claims against the Sheriff including: invasion of privacy; defamation; breach of contract; and intentional infliction of emotional distress. After days of hearing trial testimony and reviewing offered evidence, the jury returned a verdict finding no wrongdoing by the Sheriff’s Office or its employees.
